The Power of Simplicity

Whenever you are putting information onto slides, you must always try to think of the most simplistic form possible in order to get your message across. If you imagine that the slide is a canvas, as an artist you are responsible for every single letter, image, line, dot (etc.) that appears there. You are completely in control of the size, shape, colour and placement of the information, and you MUST be conservative with those decisions. You need to strike the balance between what is enough, and what is too much, to convey your message. There is incredible POWER in simplicity.

Things really go wrong when there are too many things vying for attention on the slide. There is too much noise. POWER loses its...well...power, because the audience is distracted from the message. So, keep things simple, and only display what is needed for your audience to get the point and move on.
